Bobby is a telephone man by profession. He is the lead project technician on the 1958 and 1968 airstream restorations. Bobby will be performing all mechanical, technical, structrual and electrical tasks involved in the project. Carol is a dental hygienist by profession. She will be responsible for helping with the demolition and making sure the restoration is as close to original as possible on the '58. She will also be the interior decorator and will assist Bobby with whatever he requests and requires. She is the designer-n-chief and has the power to veto any and all ideas the lead project technician may make. The earliest pics start at the bottom. Hope you enjoy our story as much as we are! Bobby will be restoring the '68 in his own way, can't wait to see it!

Umm,,,,,

Well,I don't know where to start. I have a huge desire to get started on Leroy but today I almost considered selling him to Frank! I couldn't even believe the thought crossed my mind. I'm just so discouraged because we have no place to keep it covered as we try to restore him. And everytime I even think about starting back up again I think "there is no way we will ever have enough time, energy and money to do what it needs". I love Leroy and all the folks we have met so far on this journey. I don't want to give up! I need some inspiration and encouragement! I know it's out there! And it's inside me, I just can't seem to find it!

Leroy got "hitched"

I get so excited about "Leroy" even when we do the smallest of things. Today we moved him back up under our pathetic excuse for a car port. We are anticipating some heavy rains with hurricaine Hanna headed our way! Here he sits with his new friend.."no name" as of yet. I didn't realize how much bigger the Overlander was until I saw them practically holding hands. I got excited just to hitch him to the Tahoe and pull him up thru the field....I think I have some kind of mental condition. There must be a name for it!

New tow vehicle

We got us a new tow vehicle, there is one(and only one) plus to the high gas prices, the price of SUVs is way down! Here it is, look for us down the road and honk if you love airstreams!

Old documents

We found some old paperwork in Leroy. The original title, my dad never titled it in his name. A registration from 1974 and a WBCCI dues reciept from 1975. I sure wish the dues were still $14.00 a year. I wonder if I can find out what Leroy's original numbers were and request those.

Leroy is teaching us about the birds and the bees!

We really didn't realize how messy Leroy was until we got the "new" one. What a job! Bobby gets to name that '68 and he hasn't yet.

Our first Vintage Rally

We had a good time meeting everyone at Verona KOA. I was excited that most everyone invited us in to share their resotrations!

pictures of the '58

I think I can finally get my computer to co-operate and upload some pics for me!

Still no progress

I wanted to add some pics to show everyone just how Impssible this task seems. However, My computer seems to have some issue with uploading them. So here is another empty promisses post! Sorry guys...I'm trying! We did move Leroy today. We had to move him into our field, he great for the pitiful shape he is in, there is a slight slope into the feild and he handled it like a champ! We are having a party next weekend. Everyone is invited by the way, we have plenty of pasture space to park in and extension cords will be allowed, also Natural Chimneys Campground is only 5 minutes away. Ya'll come!
